I will pay for the following article The growth and decline of the cuban republic ( review). The work is to be 5 pages with three to five sources, with in-text citations and a reference page. It’s to this argument that Batista wrote the book that was published in 1964, covering all the positive aspects of his reign as well as outlining what really made Batista fail after his reign. The book is majorly an opinion but Batista supports his argument with official records that prevail in government publication to justify his opinions. To Batista and as outlined in the book, his reign was a success as well as a rise from a regime that never felt for the citizens. By analyzing events that happened during his reign, i.e. after the takeover from Machado’s administration in 1933, up to the subjugation of Batista’s reign by the communist ion in 1959. Batista makes it clear, that communism was the cause of the countries decline and supports it with documented evidence. According to Batista, claims that his reign was not for social welfare of the citizens, as witnessed by the rebellions was a force accusation. In support of his ideas, Batista accuses communist opposers of preaching their misguided principles that brought the fall of Batista’s democratic capitalist system into a fall and thus the fall of the whole republic. Therefore, according to the author, the main purpose of the book was to correct the information that Cuban decline resulted from malignant rule by Batista, as proposed by the United States among others, outlining that communism worked in disfavor of the Cuban economy. To Batista, nationalization of industries as advocated by the communist would not improve the economy. The title of the book outlines its theme that is analyzing how Cuban rose as republic and later fell. In addition to Batista’s economy being low during Machado’s government, it was also declining. Batista, who was a in the military by then, came into political light through several promotions that made him have full control over the president. Being a capitalist, Batista supported private investments and thus his r first regime in the 1940s showed a great transformation in the economy. Although his immediate predecessors had set a background for development it was during Batista’s reign when Cuban republics economy showed a great progress. Moreover, Batista didn’t fully ignore communism as he supported labour laws and labour unions which he believed improved people’s welfare. Therefore, as recorded in the book, Cuban economy rose during Batista’s reign. It was the opposition by communists that brought up the fall of the economy. To Batista, communist campaign by the likes of Schlesinger against his regime ignored the negative aspects of communism. Batista made it clear that communism was based on propaganda that could no improve the people’s economy but increased the levels of poverty. Batista advocated for capitalism, self-motivation to make profit that left the whole economy growing and thus increased social welfare. According to Batista (1964) the success of communism, which was supported by USA, brought about the decline in economy. In other words the end of his regime, seen by others as malignant dictatorship characterized by gangsters in rule, marked the end of economic progress. Based on Abraham Lincoln’s argument that it is impossible to fool the whole community for the whole period of time, Batista shows that the opposition of his reign was based on propaganda. As a matter of fact, this book was published five years after the fall of the Batista’s reign.
