Discussion Board: Health Disparity Assignment

The Health Disparities series by the Discovery Channel explores how population health is shaped by the social and economic conditions in which we are born, live and work as you had a chance to see with your first health disparity video series discussion board assignment.  After watching the assigned video (Health Disparities Part 2), you must write up a discussion board post (of at least 500 words or more) where you answer the questions listed below in a concise and through manner. You will also need to find an article that is related to one of the health disparities covered in the video. Make sure to cite and reference any outside source (article) that you used in your post.

• What are the primary health disparities noted in the video (state some statistics presented in the video that illustrate a health disparity)?
• What gender/race or ethnic group is found to be at a disadvantage regarding health outcomes in this video (include what health issue or issues being addressed in the video)?
• Can you describe a preventative measure (intervention) that was implemented and described in this video to address a health concern?
• Did anything in the video catch your attention (maybe something that truly impacted you)?
