You are a Sales Executive working for the Datalytic software technology company. Datalytic has recognized the great work you have done and has seen an improvement in sales. The company has traditionally worked with retail and enterprise customers. Now, Datalytic is looking to expand their services into the government sector. Your manager has been inspired by the vast amount of publically available data on government websites such as data.gov. The U.S. government promotes business growth by supplying certain government data free to the public.

Datalytic is looking to formulate a business strategy for monetizing government data. Your manager has chosen you to research this topic and write a proposal for the company. Your unique skill in finding insight in datasets is perfect for this business need. You have very few barriers to working with government data because it has been curated for public use. The integrity of the data is not in question, so your focus is centered on data monetization.

• Determine how web analytics has evolved over the years.
• Predict how the use of web analytics and government data will be integrated into daily use.
• Illustrate changes that have occurred from traditional web analytics to current web metrics in use today.
